Final Exhibition
As a conclusion to the last two years of work, this exhibition serves as a culmination of all of my research and experimentation in response to different artists. Since my early tests and research into the Fluxus Group and Olafur Eliasson, my work has been focused on repetitive and scientific processes; as my response developed further and further into the minutia of cellular life I was able to explore different digital mediums and software such as Cinema 4D, Houdini and Blender to complement my practical work ranging from thrown clay sculptures, experimenting with inks and growing my own bacteria in petri dishes.
This exhibition draws from all the areas that I have looked at over the last two years as the sculptural aspect takes on a similar structure to that of the Rebecca Horn drawing machines I made early on at the start of my project whilst the video and network of elastics draw from more recent developments into cellular life and the ‘building blocks’ of human cells.
If I would have had more time I would have liked to have made the icosphere structure out of metal rods that were welded together to increase its rigidity when under strain from the elastics however I cannot complain about the outcome I have created as it has turned out exactly as it envisioned it.
