Building my Exhibition

Within my exhibition, I intended to have a mix of physical and digital media to allow for there to be something tactile and tangible within the space and ground by video work into reality.

In my exhibition space I was able to set up two backlit led tables to display my sculptural outcomes on opposing sides of my space. On the back wall I set up a projector to display my video outcome with the goal being to surround a viewer with work on all sides similar to Refik Anadol’s exhibition space at 180 The Strand’s ‘LUX’ exhibition. Initially, I planned to set up some kind of screen door over the entrance way made from opaque plastic sheeting to force people to enter the space and then seemingly trap them within; however, once the majority of my installation was set up I discussed this idea with my teachers and we came to the conclusion that adding much more to the space to enhance the ‘narrative’ aspect of the work would simply detract from the impact of the work itself and detrimentally affect my outcome as a whole.
